The Medieval Castel Trosino
The Medieval village of Catel Trosino (418 m) is worthwhile visiting, just 6 kilometres
from Ascoli Piceno, jutting out of a cliff of travertine. It was an ancient Longobard fortress, and in the 19th century an extensive necropolis
was discovered yielding precious artefact and antique Longobard jewellery that
is currently on display in the Medieval Museum in Rome.
